Obituary of Wilburn Woodcock

Wilburn "Billy" Leroy Woodcock, 87, of Hopewell passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at his home. Mr. Woodcock was preceded in death by his parents, Wortha Raymond and Bertha Martin Woodcock, a brother, Wortha Kenneth Woodcock and a sister, Frances Rudolph. Billy was a U.S. veteran serving in the Navy and Marines, a member of the VFW Post 637, Hopewell Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 146 and a member of the Seniors Golf Association. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bell Woodcock, two daughters, Michelle Ferguson (Dann) and Toni Miller (Elvin), a son Wilburn "Lee" Woodcock, Jr. (Gail), two sisters, Jean Moore (Joe) and Helen Stewart (Jim), sister-in-law, Shirley Jean Woodcock, eight grandchildren, Adam and Kendall Parton, Tripp Woodcock III, Logan and Leonard Parrish, Heather Major, Donald Krolak and Scott Munday, also numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Memorial Funeral Home- Gould Chapel, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA and where funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, April 10, 2012 with Rev. Barry Ginn officiating. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
