Obituary of Hazel Wells Collins

Hazel Wells Collins, was born in Lafayette, VA on Nov.16, 1916, died peacefully on Nov. 15, 2012. She was the wife of Charles Henry Collins. They were married 65 years before he died in 2000. She was also preceded by her parents, Alonza and Emma Wells, her sister Mary and two brothers, Charles and Bill Wells. She and her family lived first in Christiansburg, then Hopewell, Virginia. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Baganakis of Williamsburg, Betty Jo and husband Robert Morecock of Fredericksburg, Linda Lee and husband John Seckora of Disputanta, and son Charles Henry, Jr. and wife Jane White Collins of Yorktown, Virginia. Her grandchildren are: Johanna Coleman and husband Michael Sweeney of Sandston, Cameron Coleman and wife Patricia Johnson Coleman of Williamsburg, Teresa and husband Rev. John Randall of West Point, Robert and wife Marian Marra Morecock of Fredericksburg, Martha and husband Craig Eddy of Moggill Australia, Steven and wife Elizabeth Taffel Morecock of Boston, Massachusetts, Charles Henry Collins III of Yorktown, Donald Lopez and his wife, Cheryl, Daniel Lopez and his wife, Jennifer of Hopewell. Her great grandchildren are Jason Cameron and wife Maureen Johnston White of Boone, NC, Jessica White and husband Wesley Pride II of Richmond, Sarah Randall and husband Brandon Roberts of Williamsburg, Rebekah Randall of Williamsburg, Joseph, Collin, and Christiane Morecock of Fredericksburg, Sarah and Heather Morecock of Boston, Massachusetts, Alexandra Eddy of Moggill Australia, Anthony, Emily Lopez, Jenna, Eddie and Danielle Lopez all of Hopewell. Her great great grandchildren are: Maisie and Cameron White of Boone, NC and Randolph John Wesley Pride III of Richmond, VA. Hazel was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Hazel was a member of the the Lady of the Moose. She will be greatly missed by all. She enjoyed bowling and writing. Her story, "This To, Two, Too Will Pass" has been published in Voices From Eastern Montgomery County, Virginia. It is the story about her youth in the village of Lafayette, Virginia. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Memorial Funeral Home-Gould Chapel, 214 N. 6th Avenue with visitation one hour prior.
