Having been a close friend and bandmate with Elsie's son, Gary since the mid-1970's, I remember her fondly as a true Southern Lady: well spoken, mannered, and gracious. During my 2-years plus as Gary's tenant, I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with Elsie. Her stories of early life in rural Virginia were fascinating; a time and place for which I had no reference in my experience. Her descriptions of those days made it easy for me to imagine what life was like back then. She was a good mother, and did her best to instill her values in her children. Gary is a kind, thoughtful, and gracious man and has been a great friend for many, many years. Although saddened by her passing, I am comforted knowing her physical suffering has ended, and she will spend eternity with the Lord.

Elsie is also survived by her sister, Jean Keller Hunter, and her brothers, Edward Keller, Lawrence Keller, and Richard Keller, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Texie Keller, and a brother, Wade Keller. The memories of my beautiful Aunt Elsie will remain with me all of my years, and the knowledge that she has deserved rest with her Lord brings me and her extended family much comfort.
