Obituary of Theresa Buchanan Shelton

Theresa B. Shelton, 86, a lifelong resident of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away at home on August 18, 2015 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Cary Easley Shelton, Sr.; four brothers, Jack, James, Henry and Carl; two sisters, Lena and Margaret and a daughter-in-law, Betty-Jean. Theresa is survived by her four sons, Cary Jr., David, Jimmy, Ralph and three daughters-in-law; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; her brother, Richard Belcher; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends and her faithful dog, Penny. Theresa was a lifelong and charter member of West Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home (214 N 6th Avenue in Hopewell, VA). Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 22 at 11 a.m. at West Hopewell Presbyterian Church (2602 Wise Street in Hopewell, VA) with Internment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, Virginia.
