Obituary of Annette W. Collins
Annette Warren Collins, 84, of Prince George, passed away on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at CJW Medical Center- Johnston Willis Campus after a courageous battle with breast and ovarian cancer for a year. She was preceded in death by her parents, Purnell J. and Rosabell V. Ingram Warren, loving husband, Binford Collins, brother, William Warren, sisters, Eleanor Wilkerson, Jean Bishop, Annabelle Dunlap, Mildred LaCourse and Patricia Howard. Annette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She stood beside her husband Binford during his 22 years of service to our country in the United States Navy. Animals were a very important part of her life and she nurtured many during her lifetime, she could never turn her back on a stray. She was an avid collector of dolls, mastered the art of thrift shopping, served as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 10 years, was an extremely generous individual who loved life especially when she was a secret Santa to the children whom she always encouraged to do their absolute best no matter what they attempted to accomplish and always saw the good in every one she met. Love does not divide it multiplies. She is survived by her sons, David Collins (Victoria) of Prince George, William Collins(Lori) of Virginia Beach, Michael Collins of Prince George, daughter, Cathy C. Keifer (Bryan) of Prince George, grandchildren, Annette Stone(James) of Richmond, Jennifer Anifantis of Prince George, Bradley Collins of Virginia Beach, numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday May 2, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home Hopewell, Virginia from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday May 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
