To the family of Lorraine Hoover, my sympathy to you. She was one of the ladies and mother of friends in our neighborhood when I was growing up. I recall how accomplished she was in sewing for my family. She was very talented and an admirable woman in many ways. You must have left you with many memories and in your hearts.

Lorraine's handmade dolls and other toys she donated to children are legendary. There was a display of clowns, bears, dolls and other cuddly figures at the Cobblestone Clubhouse (Hopewell, VA) a few years ago, and everyone was impressed by both her expertise and her devotion to seeing that soldiers' children had beautiful toys at Christmas.
