Obituary of Gary Lloyd Parker

Gary L Parker of Chester, VA, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at home. Gary was born on October 9, 1949 on Catawba Island, Ohio, the son of the late Emil L. and Margaret L (Miller) Parker. He graduated with a BA in business from the Ohio State University in 1972 and was forever a loyal Buckeye and yearly attendee of their football games. Gary moved to Schenectady to work for General Electric in the 1970s and also became a member of the Edison Club of Rexford. He believed that life was just a small part of the world of golf and enjoyed the pastime until his final days. In 1990, he moved to Chester, VA to work with ABB and enjoy the warmer weather and longer golf season. He diligently kept track of family genealogy and made a mean bowl of split pea soup. Gary will be missed as a beloved brother, uncle, great uncle and friend. He is survived by his brother David M. (Nancy) Parker, his brother-in-law James Bieber, his nieces and nephews - Bradley Bieber, Lynne Bieber, Lorraine Robinson, Jennifer Klahr, Jeffrey Meers, Stephanie Parker, and Amanda McGarvey, and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Janet L Bieber, and many ancestors, known and unknown. Gary will be inurned with his parents at Bloomingburg Cemetery in Bloomingburg, Ohio.
