Obituary of Mellie Huffman

Mellie Huffman, 68, of Hopewell Virginia passed away on June 6, 2022. Born in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William and Angie Sparks. She was preceded in death by grandparents John and Patty Lowe; brothers Allen Lowe and Luther Lowe. Mellie managed the security department at Hercules for many years. She retired when her first grandchild was born so she could babysit all the grandkids. She returned to work in recent years, serving as office manager for Trilogy Electrical. She enjoyed gardening, line dancing and had the most amazing sense of humor but her main passion in life was her family who she dearly adored. Mellie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Michael Huffman; children, John Huffman and wife Evelyn; Christine Morris; Robert Huffman and wife Shauna; grandchildren, Madison Huffman Williams and her husband Xavier, Emily Huffman, Alex Huffman, Jared Morris, Lindsey Morris, Zachari Perkinson, Blake Perkinson and her great grandson Liam Perkinson; siblings Ethel Fanning, Shirley Thibault and her husband Marc, Gary Smith, Larry Sparks; nephew Joshua Sparks and dear friend Joe Robinson. A celebration of life will be held for Mellie on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 4 pm at the Hopewell VFW, 1400 Lynchburg Street in Hopewell Virginia.
