Obituary of William Lee Warren

William Lee Warren, 87, of Hopewell passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2011 in John Randolph Medical Center. Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh N. Warren, Sr. and Annie Belle Jolly Warren, a sister, Martha Lee Warren and brother, Hugh Nathan Warren, Jr. William was a retired fire fighter with the Ft. Lee Fire Department, serving as assistant fire chief, with twenty eight years of service, a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII, life time member of the VFW and the 1990 World Series Senior Class A Horseshoe champion. He is survived by his wife of sixty eight years, Helen Mason Warren, four sons, Terry Lee Warren, Robert Wayne Warren and wife, Pat, Walter William Warren and wife, JoAnn and Richard Nathan Warren and wife, Deborah, six grandchildren and spouses, Tracy and Debbie, Chris and Emily, Angela and Brian, Lisa and John, Mary Ellen, Vickie and Chuck, nine great grandchildren, brother, Robert Kenneth Warren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell and where funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2011 with Pastor Claude Shell officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park
