Obituary of Patricia Ann Frangopoulos

Patricia Ann Frangopoulos, 80, passed away at her residence on Friday, January 4, 2019 after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware to the Late Elmer and Stella Mullins. Patricia resided in Columbia, S.C. for 22 years. After moving to VA she became a member of St. Elpis Greek Orthodox Church where she served on Daughters of Penelope and Ladies Auxiliary board. She was instrumental in the success of the local Greek Festival, spending countless hours preparing Greek food and was well known for her "Sanikopita" and Pastitsio dishes. Most importantly Patricia was a kind, unassuming and caring mother, wife, grandmother and friend to all she knew. Patricia is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Angelo S. Frangopoulos. She is survived by her son, Kevin Frangopoulos; her daughter, Katharine Frangopoulos; grandchildren, Erica Ripchick, Rachel Frangopoulos and Michael Smith. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave in the historic city of Hopewell. A Greek service will follow in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Final rest will be private.
