Obituary of George Robert Muller

George Robert Muller, 92, of Hopewell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. He was born on June 14, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late George Stephen and Julia Albert Muller. George is also predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Veronica "Vera" Muller; a son, Raymond Muller and granddaughter, Avery Spence. He is survived by his sons, Steve Muller (Dreama), Ken Muller (Judy), Don Muller, Doug Muller (Debra); daughters, Janet Shreckhise (Steve), Barbara Prillaman (Cliff), Carolyn Spence (Paul) as well as 14 surviving grandchildren, Tiffany Muller Craft, Crystal Muller, Brooke Muller, Kenneth Muller II, Amber Muller Craft, Donna Muller Eure, Tara Muller Jones, Robert Shreckhise, Ryan Shreckhise Cave, Julie Shreckhise, Daniel Prillaman, Megan Prillaman, Aryn Spence and Ashton Spence; 15 great grandchildren, Reese Shomo, Nyla Shomo, KJ Muller, Levi Muller, Aspen Craft, Brox Craft, Cashton Craft, Dovelyn Craft, Bristol Eure, Macon Eure, Cadance Jones, Ryerson Jones, Jackson Shreckhise, Chase Cave and Cooper Cave and his sister, Viola Muller. George had 2 degrees from Notre Dame; a BS in Naval Science in 1946 and a BS in Chemical Engineering in 1949. He served 10 years with the US Navy in World War II and the Korean War and retired in 1953 with a rank of Lieutenant. George was the last surviving Charter member of the Knights of Columbus Co. no 4568 and also a member of the 4th degree K of C Appomattox Co. no. 1614. George worked for Allied Chemical/Honeywell as a Project Engineer and had several patents including the fabric used in the first successful installation of air bags for Ford in 1969. He retired after 30 years of service. He also worked for Firestone for an additional 8 years as a Senior Technical Advisor. Special thanks to Dr. Jiho Han for his exceptionally compassionate care over the years. The family will have visitation on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave in Hopewell. His funeral mass will be on Saturday January 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church at 510 W. Poythress St in Hopewell. Interment will be at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens in Prince George.
