Obituary of Ruth B. Collins

COLLINS, Ruth Blevins, 96, daughter of J. Nicholas and Dora B. Blevins, and born in Walnut Hill Township, Ashe Co., NC. She is predeceased by her parents, Dora and James Blevins; her husband, Buford Wayne Collins; a son, James Buford Collins and siblings, Arthur, Thomas and Fanny Blevins, Esther Dostie, Alma Barnett and Jessie Crockett. Ruth is survived by a sister, Alma Atwood of Green Valley, AZ and many cousins, nieces, nephews and a devoted friend, Brenda S. Skalsky. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and home maker. She loved sewing, gardening and letter writing. Her funeral ceremony will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Barry Ginn officiating. Final rest will follow in the cemetery.
