Obituary of Jack Violette

Jack Vernon Violette, 71, of Hopewell passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ettie Aultman Violette; a sister, Sandra Arms; brother, Harvey "Butch" Violette, Jr. and step mother, Granny Annie. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Betty Jo Yeary Violette; daughters, Meredith Emory (Binky), Andrea Boyette (Timmy); step daughters, JoAnn Dawson (Richard), Beth Sheleva (Paul); grandchildren, Kaitland, Kristen, D.W. Lamm, Noah Boyette, Tori, Danielle, Mandy, Mike Dawson, Carlyle Allen; sisters, Patricia Read, Susan Kephart (Steve); brother, Tommy Violette; best friend, Gil Fontinot and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jack is veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of American Legion Post #146. He moved to Virginia shortly after graduating from Princeton High School in West Virginia. Jack was an electrician and retired from Allied Signal after over 20 years of service. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave in the city of Hopewell. Jack's funeral ceremony will be on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Final rest will be in Bermuda Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered online at www.memorialfh.com.
