Yvonne Porter Gaylor, age 73, of Hopewell, VA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 2, 2013. She was born April 3, 1939 in Tomahawk, KY and moved to Hopewell, VA in 1954 where she worked for Allied Chemical B-Plant for 32 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Nora Porter; sisters, Loretta Eubank and her husband, Jim and Leona Stringham; brothers, Leonard Porter, Wetsel Porter and Douglas Porter; Nephews, Eddie Lee Stringham, Jr. and Bobby Stringham. She is survived by her son, Jack Thomas Williams, Jr.; nieces, Donna Garrett and her husband, Roger, Debra Crum, Carolyn Chavez and her husband Edward, Adrien Canpwell and her husband, John, Joyce Arsenault and her husband, Bob, Maryellen Starks and her husband, Ed, Vanessa Rensnew and her husband, Royce and Paula Porter; nephews, Ronald Porter, Kent Porter and his wife, Addie, Chuck Porter and his wife; great nieces, Tiffany Tomlinson, Tabitha Smith, Tasha Garrett, Crystal Moore, Vanessa Journey; great nephews, Nate Garrett, Isaiah Garrett, Israel Garrett and Jonathan Moore; great-great nieces, Ashley Jones, Ariel Tomlinson, Leia Garrett, Elaina Garrett, Brooklyn Garrett, Carina Moore and Jasmine Moore; great-great nephews, Luke Garrett, Logan Garrett, Toby Garrett, Caden Tomlinson, J.J. Stith and Clayton Moore; brother-in-law, Eddie Stringham and sister-in-law, Willa Porter. There will be a graveside service with family and friends on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Hopewell, VA. Her great nephew's Pastor's Nate Garrett, Isaiah Garrett and Israel Garrett will be officiating the ceremony to celebrate the life of Yvonne Porter Gaylor. Our family has been blessed to have such a loving and generous lady in our lives. She made the room light up whenever she was present. She loved life and people, but loved the Lord most of all and wanted everyone to know her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss her smiles and her laughter. Special thanks to Peggy Brinker, Carol Christopher, Riverview on the Appomattox, Crater Community Hospice and other friends who helped during her final days. We have been blessed.
