Violet Lawson

Violet Ruth Lawson, 71, of Hopewell went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Mary Dykes, two brothers and two sisters. Violet is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Tommy Lawson Sr.; her son, Tom Lawson Jr.; grandchildren, Hannah Katherine, William Andrew, Zoe Sophia Lawson; a brother, Thurman Dykes; three sisters, Irene Moore, Shirley Rickett, Loretta Wright; sister-in-law, Frankie Dotson; nephew, Larry Joe Dotson and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday June 29, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home 214 N. 6th Ave in Hopewell. Her funeral service will be on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Final rest will be in Appomattox Cemetery. Condolences may be registered online at www.memorialfh.com.
