Shirley Mae Minor Brown

Shirley Mae Minor Brown, 76, of Hopewell passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 in Chippenham Hospital. Shirley was preceded in death by her father and mother, Michael L. Minor, Jr. and Erma White Minor, husband, James Brown, daughter, Nancy Giroux, son, Michael Brown. Shirley was a retired waitress for the Waffle House with over thirty years of service. She is survived by her son, Mark Brown, two daughters, Janet Roby (Roger) and Kathy Petik (Andrew), six grandchildren, Jeffrey Hill (Danyell), Craig Hamilton, Trevor Roby, Daniel Petik (Wendy), David and Austin Petik, three great grandchildren, Rylyann Hill, Isabella Petik and Gavin Hill, a brother, David Minor (Shelia), also numerous nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 11:00 am in the South Hopewell Church of God with Pastor Thurman Collier officiating. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
