Sarah Briggs

Sarah I. Briggs, 79, of Hopewell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Wilson M. and Edna Mae Wright. Sarah is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Jack Briggs; sister, Martha McCoy and a great grandson. She is survived by her daughters, S. Darlene Shelton (Cary) and Donna J. Gladwell (Robby); grandchildren, Heather S. Thornton (Michael), Rebekah Kreemer, Jamie Clendenin (Justin), Stephen Gladwell; great grandchildren, Autumn Thornton, Grayson Clendenin and Skyler Kreemer; brother, Jimmy Wright; sister, Rhonda Bandy (Robert); and her beloved feline companion, Angel. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, 214 N. 6th Ave in the historic city of Hopewell. Sarah's funeral ceremony will be on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Woodlawn Baptist Church, 3512 Virginia Street in Hopewell.
