Mable U. Conner

Mable Updike Conner, 79, of Hopewell, Virginia went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2018. She was born in Franklin, Virginia on April 13, 1938. She has been a Hopewell, Virginia resident most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelford and Eliza Updike; her loving husband, Aubrey "Bud" Conner, Sr. and her sister, Mary Hall. Mable is survived by her children, Nelson Conner, Jr. (Kim), Donna Currier (Tom), Robert "Odie" Conner (Adrienne) and Mary Bell (Tim). She was loved by her eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Updike (Michele); sister, Janice Jones (Jay); brother-in-law, Jerry Hall, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mable was a long time member of Liberty Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue in Hopewell. Her funeral ceremony will be on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Andrews officiating. Final rest will conclude in Southlawn Memorial Park.
