Lorraine Kathlyn (Lindberg) Hoover Lorraine Kathlyn Hoover, 88, of Hopewell, went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2014, in St. Mary's Hospital. She was born in Stratford, Iowa on June30, 1925 to Clarence A. Lindberg, a farmer and milkman, and Sylvia (Bricker) Lindberg a homemaker. She went to work in Goshen, Indiana, at a private hospital where she met and married George O. Hoover in December 1946, after he returned from WWII, left the marines and joined the U.S. Army. In 1983, she and George joined the Ft. Lee, VA retirement community and she became very active in volunteer services. Over the years, she was a scout leader, church pianist, Sunday school teacher, jewelry sales person, seamstress, and ardent supporter of chapel events throughout the many places her husband's assignments took them. She was an artisan who handmade many hundreds of bears, dogs, dinosaurs, clowns and dolls for needy children through the Holiday Helper Program at Ft. Lee. She was a longtime member of the Ft. Lee Memorial Chapel Congregation, whom she considered a part of her extended family and loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her husband, and one brother, Daryl E. Lindberg of La Porte, Indiana. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Vickie Quick (Bill/deceased) of Chester, James (Linda) of Chesterfield, and Alan (Donna) of Hopewell. There are seven grandchildren Dana Beisel (Christian), Ryan Hoover (Alicia), Todd Hoover (Jen), Jared Hoover (Amanda), Jennifer Edwards (Jordan), Joshua Hoover, and Caitlin Hoover (Duke Ewell). Also joining the family through the years are 16 great-grandchildren which include one set of triplets and one set of twins due in August. The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday April 30, 2014, funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday May 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at www.memorialfh.com
