Lidia Arpaia Buffo-Metheny

Lidia Arpaia Buffo-Metheny, 88, of Hopewell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 30, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents; Giuseppe and Maria Giordano Arpaia; her first husband, John D. Buffo; her second husband, D.C. Metheny and a daughter, Maria "Cookie" Angela Buffo Blaha. Lidia is survived by her children, Joseph M. (Victoria Moogalian) Buffo, Anna "Pudgy" Buffo (Buddy L.) Noland, Judi Buffo Ripani, Giacomo E. Buffo, Antonette "Tootsi" Lydia Buffo, Giovanna "Candi" Buffo Hevener; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. Five nephews and their spouses in Naples, Italy. The family will receive friends on Friday January 2, 2015 for a rosary service at 6 p.m. with visitation to follow until 9 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 510 W Poythress St., Hopewell, VA 23860. Lidia's Mass of Resurrection will be on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 3 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude Claretian Missionaries, 205 West Monroe Street, Chicago, IL 60606.
