Lewis Horton Stevenson

Lewis Horton Stevenson, 80, of Hopewell passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. Lewis was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Hopewell American Legion Post 146, Hopewell VFW Post 637, a lifelong member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge, a former member of the Prince George Masonic Lodge 115 and a retired pipefitter with Allied Chemical with forty years of service. He is survived by his wife, Jean Stevenson, three sons, Robert, Lewis and Tommy Stevenson, two step-sons, Michael and Richard Avery, three step-daughters, Debbie Bottoms, Donna Sodano and Darlene Walker, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two nieces. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Memorial Funeral Home 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA and where funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 27, 2012 with Rev. Kenneth Hendricks officiating. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
