Kay Dereski Mclaughlin

Kay Dereski McLaughlin, 63, of Hopewell lost her battle with cancer on Thursday, January 17, 2013 after a year long fight. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, John B McLaughlin and her father, Stanley W. Dereski , a member of the First Baptist Church and an avid bowler and fisherman. She is survived by her son, Ryan T. McLaughlin and his wife, Jennifer, daughter, Brittany Kay McLaughlin, mother, Margaret Frances Falls Dereski, two grandchildren, Riley McLaughlin and Wyatt Story, a brother William Dereski and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Memorial Funeral Home-Gould Chapel, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, January 21, 2013 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
