Joan Carolyn Benedict

Joan Carolyn Benedict, 65, of Riverside, CA, formerly of Hopewell passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Retreat Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, GySgt. Sultan "Turk" Benedict, mother, Margaret E. Benedict and brother, Joey Benedict, Jr. Joan was a loving mother who was a free spirit, loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a beautician in the Hopewell area and a former employee of the Gould Funeral Home prior to moving to Riverside, CA where she continued her career as a beautician. Joan is survived by two daughters, Margaret "Margie" Williams (Robert) and Leslee Rahe McCullen, four grandchildren, Bobby Williams, Amanda Williams, Brenna Key and Henry Key, four sisters, Frances "Fran" Williamson, Mary Benedict, Martie Benedict, and Evelyn "E.J." Benedict, two brothers, Paul and Jimmy Benedict, three nephews, C.J. Williamson, Jamie Benedict and Joey Benedict III and two nieces, Niki Williamson and Melissa Benedict and loved one, Michael Ecker. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell with Chaplin Lillie Spain Daniely officicating.
