James Solesbee

James A. "Butch" Solesbee, 63, passed away on September 12, 2016 at his residence in Hopewell. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene A. and Elizabeth Glass Solesbee and his sisters, Barbara Cabniss, Lois Goodwin and Shirley Wellington. Butch is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Betty Solesbee; his son, David Solesbee (Joan); step-daughter, Arlene Brown (Dwayne); step son, Calvin "Bubba" Perkinson (Teresa), 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Browder (Lewis "Oochie"), Kay Almarode, Brother, Frank Solesbee (Sara), numerous nieces and nephews and his special 4 leg daughter, Missy Girl. Butch retired from Honeywell after 32 years of service and was a member of the Hopewell Optimist Club. He loved hunting, fishing and was a big Nascar fan. He also enjoyed high school and college football. The family will honor Butch through a celebration of life at the Hopewell Optimist Building on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11 A.M. at 1310 Lynchburg Street in Hopewell. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Children's Cancer Fund through the Hopewell Optimist Club in Butch's memory.
