James Rufus Mitchell

James R. Mitchell, 63, of Hopewell, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at his home. James was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Mitchell, six daughters, Lori Charles, Shannon, Heather, and Kaitlyn Mitchell, and Wendy and Karen Drake, eight grandchildren, two brothers, Ronnie Mitchell, and Kenny and wife Rhonda Mitchell, a sister, JoAnne and husband Steve Heckel, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Memorial Funeral Home-Gould Chapel, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA. Interment will be private.
