James Denton Martin

James Denton Martin, 78, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at his home. Born in Washington County, VA, he was the son of the late Denton H. and Bertha Caywood Martin. He was an Air Force veteran and retired from Depoly section of Allied Chemical. He was preceded in death by siblings Cliff, Brad, Yoke, Arthur and Maxine. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty L. Martin, daughters, Susan L. Martin, Rosemarie Martin Ricks (Joe) and son James Martin, Jr. (Lisa), granddaughters, Amanda Ange-Parr (Neil), Emily Ange Wilson (John), Elizabeth Martin Stangl (Jared) and Kayla Kangas, great grandchildren, Austin Michael Young and Vivian Ryan Stangl. Also surviving are sisters, Voy Mae Babetski of Coatsville,PA, Ann Cross of Bluff City, TN, Dixie Sampson and Barbra Stewart of Bristol, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richmond Fisher House Foundation, c/o Bret Wilkinson, 9201 Arboretum Pkwy. Suite 200, Richmond, VA 23236. Funeral service will be conducted 4:00 pm Saturday, July 28, 2012 from the Memorial Funeral Home-Gould Chapel, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA with Rev. Phil Andrews officiating. Interment will be private.
