Ernie J. Cibula

Ernest "Ernie" J. Cibula, Sr., 71, lifelong resident of Prince George, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 19, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, the late Emmett A. and Mary Skalsky Cibula. Ernie is survived by his devoted loving wife of 28 years, Sylvia Diane Marks Cibula; his daughters, Victoria Oldmixon (Scott) and Elizabeth Holland (Danny); three grandchildren, Madison Elizabeth Lewis and Colleen and Josh Oldmixon; his brother, Emmett Cibula (Becky) and many extended family members. Ernie passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with an extended illness of CLL. Ernie was a member of Hopewell Moose Lodge #1472, life member of the North American Hunting Club, NRA and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening. Sylvia will always cherish the trips they would take to Savanah, Georgia and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N 6th Avenue in Hopewell. Ernie's celebration of life ceremony will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the funeral home. Final rest will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to VCU Masey Cancer Center Bone Marrow Transplant Program, P.O. Box 980214, Richmond, Virginia 23298 in Ernie's memory.
