Dorothy Dabney Corum, 88, of Hopewell, passed away on Tuesday October 14, 2014, She was preceded in death by her parents; Joseph Edward and Mattie Newton Dabney, husband Robert Sherman Corum, sisters; Irene Wilson, Hazel Martin, Bert Crider, and brother; Russell Dabney. Dorothy was a member of the Hopewell Chapter 1180 Women of the Moose and a former member of VFW Post 637 Ladies Auxiliary, and was retired from Brown and Williams Tobacco Company where she was a Quality Assurance Inspector. She was a loving mother and she especially loved her grandchildren, they were the light of her eyes. Dorothy is survived by her children; Carol H. Farmer and husband Durwood, Kevin Douglas Hamilton, Bruce C. Hamilton, and Larry P. Hamilton all of Hopewell grandchildren; Craig, Jennifer, Douglas, Michele and Kimberly, 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews., The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service 214 N. 6th Ave. Hopewell, Virginia on Thursday October 16, at 6:00 PM, funeral services will be in the funeral home following the visitation at 7:00 PM with Rev Curtiss Butterworth officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park on Friday October 17 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Children's Hospital Foundation 2914 Brooke Road Richmond, Virginia 23220. Condolences may be registered at www.memorialfh.com.
