Dorothy C. Baldwin

Dorothy C. Baldwin, 92, of Hopewell, joined her husband Bill in Heaven on Saturday February 22, 2014. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Privette of Spring Hope, NC; sister-in-law; Virginia Newton of Richmond;, children, Beth Baldwin of Durham, NC; Barbara Doucet and husband Adam, of Church Point, LA; Ginny Dragsten and husband Roger of Rainbow City, AL; Billie Howell and husband Glen of Chesapeake, VA; Dottie Engle and husband Scott of Cincinnati, OH; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dorothy was raised on a farm in Garysburg, NC, moving to Hopewell in the 1940's where she met and married William Baldwin in March of 1945.They owned and managed multiple dry cleaning establishments for close to 50 years. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was generous and kind to everyone, a dedicated and loving daughter, mother, wife, and sister, and never met anyone she couldn't love, friends and strangers alike. She was a blessing to all and will be missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends on Wednesday February 26, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home (Gould) Chapel, funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral Home.
