Doris Jean Page

Doris Jean Page, 79, of Hopewell, Va., went to be with our Lord and Savior, January 18, 2023. Doris was born February 22, 1943 to the late Margaret and Claibrone Patterson. She is proceeded in death by her mother Margaret Forehand Patterson, father Claibrone Eugene Patterson, three sisters Sharon Patterson, Betty Mizell and Jackie Phillips, one grandchild Angela Gorkiewicz and one great grandchild Allison Gorkiewicz. Doris loved to play bingo and cards with family and friends. She was a dedicated employee for fifteen years at Firestone, and ten years as a supervisor for the Hopewell Publishing Company. She is survived by her three daughters, Darlene Gorkiewicz (Jimmy) of Hopewell, Va., Rhonda Sponaugle (Kelly) of Prince George Va., and Snook Sponaugle (Delbert) of Hopewell Va. Nine grandchildren Bobby Sponaugle of Prince George, Va., Clint Gorkiewicz (Ashley), Kristi Page, Clay Sponaugle, Aaron Sponaugle, April Gorkiewicz, Brittany Sponaugle, Dale Sponaugle and Matt Sponaugle all of Hopewell, Va., sixteen great grandchildren, Kendra Sponaugle, Joshua Gorkiewicz, Brodie Gorkiewicz, Brenden Page, Brayden Reese, Brionna Thorne, DJ Thorne, DD Madison Thorne, Anthony Sponaugle, Kaysen Elwell, Maiya Sponaugle, Alexis Sponaugle, Makenzie Sponaugle, AJ Sponaugle, Kaleb Sponaugle and Kaylea Langford, along with a host of nieces and nephews who loved her very much. A memorial honoring her life will be held for family and friends Saturday, February 4, 2023 between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the VFW located at 1400 Lynchburg St. Hopewell, Va., 23860.
