Delma Eugene Jones

Delma Eugene Jones, 86, of Boykins, VA, formerly of Hopewell, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Hopewell Health Care Center. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Edward A. and Mary Elizabeth Forehand Jones, five brothers, Edward, Melvin, Ray, George and Wesley, two sisters, Margaret and Louise. Delma was retired from the City of Hopewell's Waste Water Plant and a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Jones, two sons, Brian E. Jones (Patti) and Bruce E. Jones (Faith), three daughters, Judith Carlisle, Teresa Daniel and Denise Saluck, two sisters, Mary Wishon and Irma Thompson, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Memorial Funeral Home-Gould Chapel, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens with Dr. David Crump officiating.
