Agnes Virginia Tennant

Agnes "Virginia" Thompson Tennant, 94, of Hopewell passed away at her residence on February 9, 2017. She was born on March 6, 1922. She is preceded in death by her parents, The Rev. Joseph H. and Thetus Jean Thompson; her husband, Freeman Lester Tennant and her son, E. Howard Lane, Jr. Virginia is survived by her loving daughter, Jean Lane Emory (Milton); grandchildren, Lauree Emory Lee (Joe), Kelly Emory Tanner, Cody Lee Emory; two great grandchildren, Ryan Drew Bell, Emma Jean Tanner and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a life member of First Baptist Church in Hopewell where she attended faithfully until her health began to decline. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, Hopewell Chapter 1180 and the VFW Auxiliary in Hopewell. An extra special thanks to her caregivers, Marion E. Davis and Margaret E. Hayes for their loving dedicated care. There will be a private graveside service held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Appomattox Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hopewell Emergency Crew.
